Partner / Family Activities

Is your partner or family joining you in Hobart? If so, please share this information with them.
We are offering three days of activities which we will book on your behalf, putting you in contact with other partners and families so to have some company.

Before each activity, we will advise of a meeting point (at Hotel Grand Chancellor) and we will escort you to the tour departure point.

We will set up a Whatsapp group and if you wish you can provide your mobile phone number to become part of this chat, helping you stay in touch during the conference week to arrange meeting points, other activities etc.

To book these activities, please do so during the conference registration process or if already registered, please contact Lucy, and we can update your booking.

 

MONDAY

Museum of Old and New Art (MONA)

Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) www.mona.net.au , only open Thursday to Monday, so we are offering to book this for you on the Monday if your partner is busy attending the pre-conference Workshop or Masterclass.

10.00am ferry, arriving at MONA 10.45am, returning on the 3.00pm ferry, back in Hobart by 4.00pm.

Cost for return ferry and entry to museum is:

Morning tea

Meet at the ANCOLD 2026 Registration Desk at the Hotel Grand Chancellor at 10.00am and share morning tea together, for the opportunity to meet prior to the day’s activity.

Double Decker City Loop hop on hop off

Choose from 20 different stops featuring the best sights and attractions in and around Hobart. Hop-on and hop-off the red open-top double decker as many times as you like or stay on board and do the 90-minute city loop tour!

Professional and informative commentary available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Spanish. Complimentary earphones are available from the driver.

The City Loop operates between 20 popular locations including the MONA ferry terminal at Brooke Street Pier, Salamanca Place, Battery Point, Wrest Point Casino, Sandy Bay Village, Cascade Brewery, Cascades Female Factory, Hobart CBD, Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery, Maritime Museum of Tasmania, Hobart Convict Penitentiary, Hobart Aquatic Centre, The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and Victoria Dock.
The ticket is valid for 24 hours from the time you first board.
